An Elgin teenager pleaded guilty Thursday afternoon to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the death of a 17-year old.

John Keyes III was run down from behind by a car in November 2009. As part of a plea agreement, 18-year-old Lacorbek Benion was sentenced to 15 years in prison after his guilty plea.

Benion's mother, Timera Branch, ran over the victim. She is serving a 34-year prison term.
