Survey: Tanning still popular with some

May 28, 2012 (CHICAGO)

An online survey by the American Academy of Dermatology finds 71 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 believe sun exposure is good for a person's health. That is despite repeated warnings that prolonged exposure to the sun's ultraviolet radiation or tanning beds can increase a person's likelihood of a skin cancer diagnosis.

The academy is producing a series of public service announcements encouraging young people to stop tanning.
