Darius Sarley, 22, was shot in the chest and died at a hospital. His 19-year-old passenger was hurt.
The accident happened late Tuesday in the 6800-block of South Calumet.
Investigators say the suspect walked up to the parked van and started shooting. The driver took off and rear-ended the bus.
The passenger was in stable condition. The bus driver was treated for minor injuries.
No one was in custody Wednesday.
