An off-duty Chicago police officer caught a driver who tried to flee a hit-and-run crash.

Two people were critically injured in that incident Thursday night near the intersection of West North Avenue and North Pulaski Road. Police say a vehicle hit another vehicle, which rolled over.

The driver of the striking car reportedly drove off. At one point he jumped out of the car and tried to flee on foot. That's when the off-duty officer caught up with him.
