Financial expert Mellody Hobson named chairman of After School Matters

Mellody Hobson has been named to take over the charity, which was founded by Chicago's late first lady.

Hobson is president of Ariel Investments. She talked with Ryan Chiaverini Tuesday morning on Windy City Live here on ABC7.

After school Matters offers after school and summer apprentice programs for Chicago students.

Also on Tuesday, Mrs. Daley's daughter Nora Daley Conroy became a member of the charity's board of directors and her son Patrick Daley joined the advisory board.
