Walsh says he wants to focus on his constituents. Instead, the tea party favorite will hold a series of campaign events in the 8th District where he is currently engaged in a better campaign with Democrat Tammy Duckworth.
Walsh says he hopes Duckworth will also skip her party's convention and tour the district with him.
