It happened around 4:30 Friday morning at the Damen exit ramp of the Stevenson Expressway.
Police say the driver of the car sped away but was caught a short time later.
The suspect's SUV suffered major front-end damage.
Both the driver and his passenger are now in police custody.
So far. no one has been charged.
