Plaza del Lago's 9th Annual North Shore Treasures: Collectibles and Antique Appraisals (www.plazadelago.com/events) takes place in Wilmette on Saturday, September 8, 2012. It also raises money for the Les Turner ALS Foundation (www.lesturnerals.org/events/als-walk-4-life). Daniel Buck Soules, who was on PBS' Antiques Roadshow for 11 years, is an appraiser at the event. He joined us in our ABC7 studio for a preview.
Also, remember that the 11th Annual Les Turner ALS Walk4Life (www.lesturnerals.org/events/als-walk-4-life) is on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Soldier Field. It's one of the world's largest ALS gatherings, with more than 5,000 participants. ABC7 is a sponsor, and meteorologist Phil Schwarz will once again emcee the opening ceremony.
