In three recent incidents, a person has approached a female victim, sometimes asking a question, and then takes jewelry from their necks.
It has happened in the 2700-block of West 47th Street, the 5000-block of South Rockwell and the 4000-block of South Brighton Place.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
