Chicago police officer accused of accepting bribe

A Chicago police officer has been arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe to dismiss a pending criminal case.

The Chicago Police Department issued a preliminary statement Tuesday morning to announce that a 10th District officer was arrested by the Bureau of Internal Affairs.

The Ogden District officer's name was not revealed. The statement said the investigation is still ongoing.

No charges have been filed.

The 10th District includes parts of the Little Village, Lawndale and Marquette Park neighborhoods.
