A coalition of consumer groups is now calling on schools to ban tuna from their lunch menus.

The ban is in response to a new report called "Tuna Surprise" by the Mercury Policy Project.

Researchers tested 59 samples of tuna purchased from schools or companies that supply schools. They found the tuna contained variably high levels of mercury, sometimes surpassing the federal limit.

Researchers say children should stop eating albacore tuna.
