Man accused in beating death claims insanity

October 16, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Daniel Baker's lawyer claimed this during his opening statement in court.

Prosecutors say Baker killed Marina Aksman in her Vernon Hills home in April 2010, after she tried to end his relationship with her daughter.

Five days after the killing, police caught up with Baker and the victim's daughter in northern Montana.

Baker's actions on the day of the murder contradict the insanity plea, according to prosecutors.
