Foul odor leads police to dozens of filthy animals in McHenry Co. house

Crews removed dozens of animals from a McHenry County home. Police say they were found in filthy conditions.

Someone called for a well-being check on the woman who owns a home in unincorporated Woodstock. When officers arrived, they smelled a foul odor. Once inside, they found dozens of dogs, birds and other animals. Some were dead.

Police eventually found the homeowner in Park Ridge. So far, she has not been charged with any crime.
