Saturday storm causes damage on the North Side

November 11, 2012 (CHICAGO)

A lightning strike blew part of the facade off a mid-rise condo building in the Lakeview neighborhood. It sent pieces of building debris, including bricks, raining down into the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and School Street.

Residents say luckily the debris didn't hit anyone.

"I can't believe it ... With all the debris on the ground ...Scary - fortunate no one was hurt," building resident Alison Brembaugh said.

Police closed the sidewalks along both the Lincoln Avenue and School Street sides of the building.
