Health officials urge residents to get flu shot

The Centers for Disease Control predicts this will be an especially bad year for the flu. Governor Pat Quinn was among those who got a flu shot on Thursday to remind people that its important.

"The flu shot is the best protection you can get to protect yourself against the flu," Nancy Salmon, pharmacist, said.

Children, pregnant women, people with chronic health conditions and those 65 and older could suffer serious complications if they catch the flu.
