A 75-year-old Catholic school on the city's Far North Side will close its doors at the end of the school year.

St. Gregory the Great High School in the 1600 block of West Bryn Mawr is shutting down.

St. Gregory was the archdiocese of Chicago's first co-ed high school.

A drop in enrollment and financial issues have hurt the school.

Students will be given preference at Holy Trinity High School, where their tuition will remain the same, or they will receive a $1,000 subsidy to attend another Catholic high school.
