Thirty-six-year-old Jitka Vesel was shot to death last year. Police say her killer was a Canadian man who had stalked Vesel.
Now, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence is suing the website ArmsList.com, claiming its design allows the illegal sale to buyers without a background check. The center says that's where suspect Demetry Smirnov found his gun.
"If a gun seller or a gun website doesn't care that people like Jitka Vesel will be killed because of their irresponsible conduct, then maybe they will care about their bottom line," said attorney Jonathan Lowy.
ABC7 was unable to reach anyone from the website for comment.
