Nearly 100 workers at the Chicago company that makes Oscars and Emmy statues lose their jobs Monday.

The layoffs are part of the recent sale of R.S. Owens and Company to St. Regis Crystal of Canada.

Company officials say the 95 workers can apply to be rehired, but it is not clear how many employees will be rehired.

The new owner says it will continue to make the Oscar statuettes in Chicago.
