Millions of people get flu shots but many are not caught up with the rest of the vaccines recommended for adults.

A new study finds adult vaccination rates are "unacceptably low", according to the CDC.

A substantial increase in adult vaccinations is needed to prevent diseases including pneumonia, tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis, shingles and whooping cough, the CDC said.

Health experts say far too few adults are getting vaccinated against these important diseases. Adults who do not get vaccinated can put others at risk.
