Parker's gathered tonight for a prayer vigil at a park in south suburban Joliet.
Parker's son, 21-year-old Charles McCullum was charged with her murder.
McCullum told police he stabbed Parker and threw her body in the Des Plaines River.
"He couldn't have been in his right mind. Cuz that lady would bend over backwards for her kids, so i know he wasn't in his right mind. At the same time, we have to show him love, you know, forgive him," Parker's brother Terrance Robinson said.
A body was recovered from the Des Plaines River in Channahon Saturday.
Parker's family is convinced the body is hers although the remains have not been officially identified.
