Teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency visited affected areas in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
FEMA team visits are the first step in getting federal assistance to residents as many people are still waiting to get back into their homes in places such as west suburban Lisle.
They are looking at several things including how many people are affected, how many lost power and how many had insurance.
Eleven days after historic flooding some residents are worn out and many were glad to see FEMA workers.
