Man charged with recording video in hospital bathroom

May 18, 2013 (WHEATON, Ill.)

Forty-nine-year-old Salvador Perez of Franklin Park has been charged with unlawful videotaping.

A judge set his bond at $150,000 on Saturday.

The DuPage County State's Attorney's Office says Perez placed his cell phone under a sink in a unisex bathroom on Friday and positioned it so it would capture video of the toilet area.

Prosecutors say he activated the record function and left the bathroom. They say a woman using the bathroom later saw the phone drop from under the sink and alerted authorities.

Perez has been charged with a felony. If he posts bond, Perez will be required to wear a GPS monitoring device.

It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
