Both directions of Michigan Avenue were closed from Roosevelt to 14th Street due to police activity Friday morning.

Shortly before 8:00 a.m., the street was reopened as officials began clearing the area, ABC7 Traffic Reporter Roz Varon said.

Earlier, Chicago police and fire officials could be seen in the area.

Commuters faced delays as officials detoured traffic and CTA buses, including 12 Roosevelt, 3 King Drive, and 4 Cottage Grove.

Buses have resumed normal routes, Varon said.
