Suburban police chief pleads guilty to fraud charges

A former southwest suburban police chief is now pleading guilty to fraud charges.

Regina Evans, 49, stepped down as Country Club Hills police chief in 2011.

She and her husband Ronald Evans Jr. are charged with being involved in an alleged fraud of more than $1 million in state grants.

Evans is now free on bond but could face as much as 20 years in jail and a fine.
