Mayor Rahm Emanuel joins West Side vigil to stop violence

Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined residents and community members as part of an effort to stop the violence across the city.

The gathering happened on the city's west side, at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Central.

Residents and pastors gathered on the street, holding signs and calling for an end to gun violence.

Mayor Emanuel urged residents to take back their streets, and thanked them for taking action against gangs and gun violence.
