Fed up with the violence that's plaguing the streets of Chicago and other cities around the country, members of the Congressional Black Caucus announced Thursday they will host an emergency summit on urban violence here in Chicago.

Caucus members say they will no longer tolerate the violence and the bloodshed.

"Whether those streets be located in Chicago, Detroit, Michigan, New York City, Houston, Los Angeles. . . No matter where in America this type of violence rises it's head up, we have to raise our voices and act to shut it down," said Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Chicago).

The summit will take place July 25-26 at Chicago State University.
