Grilled Bread

It's one of life's simple pleasures. Tony Stallone with Peapod just came back from a trip to Spain, where he picked up a way to grill bread, and he came to our ABC7 studio to show us how to make it.

Tony's Recipe: Catalan Bread
1 Sourdough Bread loaf cut into 3/4" slices
3 garlic cloves peeled and cut in half
6 Cherry Tomato, ripe cut in half
4T Olive Oil Extra Virgin
1T Salt, Kosher or Sea

Heat grill to medium high, and brush grates with oil.
Place bread on grill.
Cook 1 to 2 minutes per side until grill mark appears.
Remove from grill working in batches of 4 at time rub with garlic halves, then cut cherry tomato squeezing as rubbing until bread is covered in tomato.
Discard used garlic and tomato, repeat with remaining bread until done.
Drizzle with oil, and sprinkle with salt.
Serve along with plate of sliced Iberico ham or Proscuitto, sliced Spanish chorizio, and goat cheese.
