51-year-old Frances Reitz surrendered to police on Monday. She allegedly hit an officer's arm as she was being taken into custody.
Police say her friend Anthony Garcia is charged with assaulting a police officer. He also works for the Town of Cicero.
A spokesperson said in a statement that the town would wait to see what happens in court before deciding whether to take action against the two.
