The mayor and Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy recognized the latest graduating class Tuesday at Navy Pier.

More than 120 officers will soon hit the streets to help patrol safe passage routes.

The Fraternal Order of Police is not happy about the decision to put new probationary officers on Safe Passage routes. The union is upset because it believes these officers should be working with veteran officers to get more training before going out on their own.
