  • Cheese (cut in fun shapes with vegetable cuLers)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Red, green or yellow peppers
  • Light Mayonnaise or Ranch dressing (for dipping) Skewers

Preparation: Simply alternate placing the bread, ham, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and peppers onto skewers. Serve with light mayonnaise or ranch dressing on the side for dipping.

2. Ham "Sushi" Sandwich

Ingredients:

2 slices thinly sliced Krakus® Low Sodium Ham, cut in half
2 soft whole wheat flour tortillas
2-3 tablespoons light cream cheese, softened
Optional:
1 small carrot, shredded (about 1/3 cup)
Hummus, Ranch dressing or Light mayo (for dipping)

Preparation

Spread the cream cheese evenly over the entire tortilla, making sure it reaches all outside edges (the cream cheese will be the "glue" that holds the rolls together). Sprinkle the carrots over and cover, as evenly as possible, with the ham slices. Roll up tightly and slice crosswise into ¾ inch pieces. Serve with hummus, light mayonnaise or ranch dressing on the side for dipping.

3. Checkerboard Sandwich

Ingredients
4 slices of Krakus® Low Sodium ham
4 slices of cheese (low fat Cheddar, Swiss or Mozzarella)
1 Tbs of light cream cheese
1 tsp of honey mustard
2 white or wheat bread slices
2 dark bread slices
Garnishes: grape tomatoes or green and red grapes, secured with wooden picks
(Makes 2 sandwiches)

Preparation

Spread cream cheese on bread slices. Place 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese on 2 white and 2 wheat bread slices. Spread mustard, and top with another slice of cheese and ham. Cover with 2 other white and wheat bread slices. Cut-off the crust and then cut each sandwich into 4 squares. Garnish with tomatoes or grapes.

4. "Happy Face" Grilled Ham & Cheese

Ingredients:
1 slice Krakus® Polish Deli Ham
1 slice Cheddar or Swiss Cheese
1 Cherry Tomato
5-6 Baked Potato chips

Preparation
Place the ham and cheese on 1 slice of bread. Cut out eyes, nose and mouth using small cutters or knife from remaining bread slices to make a happy face. Place cut-out bread slices over cheese forming sandwiches.

Spread outside of sandwiches with butter. Heat nonstick griddle or skillet on medium heat. Place sandwich, cut-out side down, onto griddle. Cook, turning once, 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Slice the cherry tomato in half for ears and place the baked potato chips on top of face as "hair."

5. Grissini and Ham Snack Ingredients:
Krakus® Polish Deli Ham
Grissini (Italian Breadsticks)
Light cream cheese
Optional: Unsalted pretzel sticks

Preparation
For a super quick and yummy after-school snack, start with Krakus® Polish Deli Ham and lightly smear the cream cheese over the entire ham slice. Take a breadstick, roll the edge over the stick and through the entire slice of ham. Note: You may substitute breadsticks for unsalted pretzel sticks and use a flavored cream cheese.
