President Obama said on Tuesday he would continue to rally allies, but many people right here at home do not support military action against Syria.

A group of opponents held a rally on North Michigan Avenue Tuesday evening.

Organizers say they hope they'll be able to force President Obama and Congress to back down from what they call a 'ridiculous' war.

Members of the Syrian American Alliance are disappointed and say military action won't start a war, but will stop one.

"I'm sure that diplomacy will fail because I think this Russian-Syrian deal is just a way of delaying the action. I think it's very powerful that world public opinion has forced Barack Obama into this climbdown," said Abdullah Haj-Darwish, Syrian American Alliance.
