Fire crews were called to the three-story home in the 300-block of Ravine Park Drive around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Officials say a lightning bolt struck the home, ripped bark off a huge tree and punch a hole into the roof.

"The whole house shook, and we saw white, then we saw a red flash," Liz Scully. "We checked around the house to see if there was any damage. My oldest daughter's room had a hole above her window."

No one was injured.

The fire department said another lightning strike knocked some bricks off a chimney at a nearby home.
