Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced plans Saturday for a new neighborhood sports complex on the city's Southwest Side.

He was joined by Alderman Matt O'Shea and several others on the site at 115th and Western.

It's been sitting vacant for decades.

The 55,000-square foot facility will feature an indoor ice rink for hockey and figure skating.

There will also be a gymnastics center.

The facility will be built starting next year and will serve the Beverly and Morgan Park communities.
