NE Indiana man in wheelchair killed by train ID'd

Forty-one-year-old Anthony Sills of Kendallville died when struck by a train Tuesday evening while crossing the city's Main Street railroad tracks in a battery-powered wheelchair.

The News-Sun reports a camera was mounted on the train's lead engine.

Witnesses told police the crossing gates were down, red signals were flashing and a bell was ringing indicating an approaching train when Sills attempted to cross the tracks.

Kendallville is about 25 miles northwest of Fort Wayne.
