It happened in Gary, Indiana and a manhunt was underway Friday night.
Investigators say 21-year-old Jamal Haskins got away after appearing in court on a minor charge.
But they say he may now face prison time for assaulting two officers as he broke free.
The officers were not seriously hurt.
