Antacids may contribute to high blood pressure

Those fizzy medications contain salt. Researchers from the United Kingdom looked at more than a million people.

They found those who had suffered heart attacks, stroke and even death were 18 percent more likely to have taken the high sodium, dissolving medications than regular pills.

Excess salt may not be the only reason but experts say it's something to consider.
