A former Chicago official and convicted felon wants to run for Cook County office.

Al Sanchez was the head of Streets and Sanitation before he went to prison in a rigged hiring scheme.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports he has filed nominating petitions for Cook County Board commissioner.
