The three separate crashes on southbound Lake Shore Drive in the Oak Street Curve around 6 a.m. included eight cars, with several of them needing to be towed. No one was injured.
While those crashes were being cleared, five more fender-benders, with some of the vehicles left non-drivable, occurred between North Avenue and the crashes at Oak Street. That made a total of eight crashes before 7 a.m.
