A popular spot for groceries in the south Loop is back in business, as the old Dominick's store on Canal reopened Thursday as Jewel-Osco.Dominick's parent company, Safeway, decided to close all its Chicago area stores.
The Canal Street location is one of four old Dominick's stores re-opening as Jewel-Osco.
Only 450 out of 6,000 Dominick's employees got to keep their jobs.
