Sunday's "March for Life" comes on the 41st anniversary of the United States Supreme Court's Roe versus Wade decision which legalized abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy.
The Archdiocese of Chicago and Catholics across the area say their mission is to ensure that every human life is valued and protected from the moment of conception.
The cardinal and local Catholics were also joined by other pro-life support groups from all over the Chicago area.
They marched from Federal Plaza to the State of Illinois building.
