Ice caves form on Lake Superior

January 24, 2014 (BAYFIELD, Wis.)

Ice caves were spotted near the Apostle Islands in Wisconsin.

The formations are said to be among the most dramatic in years

Locals say this is the first time in five years Lake Michigan has frozen solid enough to safely reach the caves.

But to get there you have to hike nearly two miles to the islands.

The only problem is making sure you are bundled up enough to stay warm.
