Equality Illinois is calling on county clerks across the state to start performing same sex weddings immediately.

The Same Sex Marriage Bill that passed last year does not take effect until June 1, but members of Equality Illinois say there's no reason to wait.

They are urging clerks to follow a federal judge's ruling for Cook County, stating that denying immediate access to marriage is unconstitutional.
