The man, 27, was from Auburn, Mass., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. His death appeared to be a suicide, the medical examiner's office said. An autopsy to determine the cause and manner of his death is scheduled for Tuesday.
Witnesses said a man set down a drink and then leaned over the railing on the seventh floor of the indoor atrium. He fell through the atrium to the first floor of the shopping center, where he died.
