Phillip Allison, Texas man charged with fatal December shooting gets no bond

Phillip L. Allison, 35, of Missouri City, Texas, has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with the Dec. 14 shooting, according to Chicago Police. He was ordered held without bond Thursday.

Two men were standing in the front vestibule of an apartment building in the 300 block of North Central Avenue about 1:25 a.m. when a gunman entered with several other people and opened fire, police said at the time.

Deangelo Shelton, 26, was shot several times in the abdomen and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

A 25-year-old was shot once in the abdomen and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "guarded" condition, police said at the time.

Allison was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Houston and extradited to Chicago on Monday, police said.
