The water department completed its repair work on that water main, but ice cleanup continues on the expressway.
On Thursday night, IDOT trucks still had equipment on the scene and traffic in the outbound lanes was still relatively slow. The problems began shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday.
Crews cleaned up water which flowed onto the Bishop from the water main break, located at 100 Street and Prairie. The fr right lane of the outbound Bishop Ford had to be shut down, making a mess of the commute. That lane remains closed Thursday night, although the water main has been repaired.
Ice cleanup continues, but should be wrapped up by the Friday morning rush.
