Newly-restored film offers glimpse of 1940s-era Chicago

A newly-restored film gives us a unique look at Chicago in the 1940s.

Former Bucktown resident Jeff Altman bought the footage for less than $40 at an estate sale. He works in the movie industry and cleaned up the film a bit.

It shows sights from all over town, long before there was a Willis Tower or the John Hancock Center.
