Pastor's wife robbed in Austin by man wearing safety vest

Safe Passage is a program that helps Chicago Public Schools students get to and from class. Like utility workers, they wear yellow and orange safety vests. According to the release from New Mt. Pilgrim's Church, the offender who robbed Priscilla Hatch at gunpoint had on a vest. The statement warns Ward 29 residents, "Beware: safety vest have become use for robbers."

Hatch, wife of prominent pastor Rev. Marshall Hatch, was robbed around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 5700-block of Midway Park in Austin. The offender got away with her purse.

According to the church, this is the third robbery near Midway Park in the past month.
