A Chicago City Council committee has advanced a plan to let liquor sales begin at 8 a.m. on Sundays instead of 11 a.m., as is the current rule.

This plan applies only to liquor sold in major grocery stores, not large liquor retailers such as Binny's.

The proposed change now goes on to the full City Council.
