Illinois welcomed more than 103 million visitors from others states in 2013, the most domestic visitors to come to the state ever, according to Governor Pat Quinn.

Quinn said this is the third consecutive year of record-breaking tourism numbers.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel is expected to announce Thursday that 47 million domestic visitors came to the city of Chicago in 2013, an all-time record high.

A statement from the mayor's office said overseas tourism numbers are also expected to increase to more than 1.4 million visitors. The city's goal is to draw 55 million visitors annually by 2020, the statement said.
