Juan Luna, James Degorski eventually convicted in case
PALATINE, Ill. (WLS) -- The woman who helped law enforcement solve the infamous Brown's Chicken massacre in Palatine is speaking out in an interview with the Daily Herald.
Sunday marked 30 years since seven people were gunned down on a cold January night, during a robbery at Brown's Chicken in Palatine.
Anne Lockett, the woman who helped Palatine police crack the infamous 1993 murders, said years of abuse at the hands of her then-boyfriend, convicted killer James Degorski, kept her from telling police what she knew for nearly a decade.
"I think I was having an emotional moment when everything comes crashing in on you," Lockett said. "I called my friend and told her today's the day, and that I needed her to get a hold of one of the Palatine police officers she knew because it had to happen today or it wasn't happening."
